It all began on July 7th, 1937. I said farewell to my wife Miyuki Akita and my grown up boy Sasuke back at my hometown, Tokyo. My first son, Naoki, was brave enough to follow me to China and I praised his courage. On that fateful day, our army launched a full scale, undeclared war against China, even though it meant that we may get into conflicts with the United States and European powers. In fact, our mighty empire has been interested in Manchuria for a long period of time. We saw Manchuria as a place of unlimited raw materials and resources, a market for our manufactured goods, and militarily speaking, a buffer state against the Soviet Union. With our strong forces, we easily captured Beijing, Tianjin, and Shanghai (here our army struggled a bit against KMT forces under Chang Kai-shek, but they were soon defeated as expected) within a matter of months. A soldier named Akainu Hachiro fought exceptionally bravely, and I got to know that he was Sasuke's upperclassmen at his highschool later. Two days ago, our proud army successfully captured the KMT capital city Nanking. Chang Kai-shek, afraid of being annihilated, withdrew from protecting the capital. At Nanking, our soldiers engaged in rape, murder, theft, and arson. They sacked the resources from this ancient city, killed civilians who resisted, and raped nearly every women found. I personally too, have took in possession of valuable goods and raped a couple of women including a 16 year old Chinese girl. Of course, this is what the Chinese get and deserve for even attempting to resist against our imperial army. I am absolutely certain that this bold move will bring glory to our heavenly empire and it will remain in history eternally. Glory to Japan! Soon the world shall bow before our greatness.

Even after the fall of China, we expanded our empire’s territory endlessly in the Pacific. Japanese officers were sent to various places in the Pacific to fight, and I was sent to Hong Kong. These unprepared people did not put much of a fight against our imperial army. However this one foreigner (Canadian)fought exceptionally bravely and nearly got me killed with grenade which he missed. In the end, uncountable numbers of Chinese soldiers and civilians (his son) alike were killed and injured. Also, when Germany defeated France, we were able to occupy coastal regions of French Indochina. Eventually, we grew so much and so rapidly that the United States and other European nations were threatened. Immediately, the U.S. demanded our Army to leave Indochina. Absolutely preposterous! What do they think they are, asking our army to do what they want? We officers met and consented to reject their demand. In response, the U.S. ceased to sell war-related raw materials to our holy empire. At this point, our Army was not severely affected and could still continue to expand. We were mad, but we held it down. On August 1941, the United States really asked for it. They were bold enough to place an embargo on its sale of oil (which was 80% of our supply) to Japan and close the Panama canals to our vessels and ships! These terrible economic sanctions hindered our military progress greatly; we were outraged. How could they show this much disrespect to our holy empire? Therefore, on December the 7th,1941, we decided to launch a surprise attack on their territory. Yes, the U.S. territory. We all know that by the time our bombers bomb Pearl Harbor, we are at beginning a war against the United States. But we are confident that our Imperial Army would never lose as we have never lost to any foreign power in our history and Germany also has our back. Glory to Japan!

Our surprise attack on Pearl Harbor was a great success. Our brave pilots destroyed the entire battleship fleet at the harbor, but unfortunately, its aircraft carriers were not present. Nevertheless, the impact on their army was so great that we thought it was impossible for them to ever recover. However, we were proven wrong. In April 1942, the demons striked back and attacked our holy territory in what is known as the Doolittle Raid. A veteran American pilot named Klein was also involved in the attack. About a month later, we fought each other using carriers in the Coral Sea, greatly hindering our expansion. We still had an advantage at this point as us, the Axis powers, had control over most of Europe and much of Asia and Pacific. We decided to launch another surprise attack on the U.S., but this time the plans did not go well. The U.S. intercepted our code and decoded the plans for our attack. Thus, our forces were obliterated, as all four of our carriers were sunk down by U.S. forces and we withdrew. Our frustration continued when the U.S. forces used a cheap trick known as "island hopping" where they simply avoided areas we fortified the most. The U.S. troops were closing to our home islands every minute, and I began to worry about lives of my family (My two sons have already been killed in war months ago by Americans), but I tried my best to cheer up the soldiers and encouraged them to fight until their last breath for the glory of the Japanese Empire. We all got on an airplane to move back to Japan to protect our nation. Hey, how can we possibly lose when we have control over most of the territory? Things will go back to the way they were soon.

Semptember 1945

It is the end. There is no way we can win this war, no matter how you look at it. Even I, who tried to convince others that Japan was going to win in the end, lost all hope. The War began to turn when we heard a devastating news on May 8th, 1944. Germany has surrendered unconditionally to the Allies, handing over Europe to them. What cowards! At that point we swore that we will defend our nation until the end and never surrender like those German losers. The U.S. kept on closing in to our home islands and in February 1945, our islands Iwo Jima was under attack; and 6 months later, even Okinawa became a battlefield. The defeat of those islands meant our home islands were greatly vulnerable to bombing. Our nation was very poor against air forces, and our wooden buildings were easily destroyed by U.S. bombers. My wife informed me that even my home back in Tokyo was destroyed and burnt down and my son Alex is missing. I felt sorry for her and my child, but my nation comes before them. I met a British prisoner near Tokyo and clubbed him numerous times, thinking of the hardships his white demon friends are causing our people. Also, espite their continuous bombing, we managed to fight longer until the demons of the U.S. committed the worst crime possible. They dropped a new type of bomb (I think it is called an atom bomb) on our city of Hiroshima. I heard news that the once prosperous city of Hiroshima was wiped out of the surface of Japan within hours. Believe me, I said the worst things that can possibly come out of my mouth when I heard of it. However, even before this shock is gone away, the U.S. dropped another bomb on Nagasaki and the same devastating things happened. We officers met in Tokyo and consented that further fighting meant more destruction upon our holy land. We decided to surrender. yes, surrender our Holy Empire. I almost killed myself as our nation was greatly dishonored, but my urge to see my family back at home saved me from it.
